NJCAA mourns the loss of Roark Montgomery

August 11, 2018

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA is mourning the loss of longtime Navarro (TX) Athletic Director Roark Montgomery who passed away Thursday evening.

A staple in the NJCAA, Montgomery oversaw the Bulldog athletic department for 24 years. Montgomery's time at Navarro started in 1988 as the head men's golf coach and took over as the Athletic Director in 1994. Montgomery's notoriety for hiring quality coaches led to national success across all Bulldog athletics which included the 2010 NJCAA National Football Championship.

Montgomery's impact stretched far beyond Corsicana, TX as he served the NJCAA on a national level in a variety of capacities. Montgomery's leadership roles included Region 14 Men's Director of Football Committee Chair.

The entire NJCAA sends its thoughts and prayers to the Navarro community, friends, and family of Roark.
