Markarian Among TDS Top-100 Returners
NEW YORK – Columbia junior Vana Markarian cracked the TopDrawerSoccer Top-100 returning players list, announced by the premier college soccer website. Markarian came in at No. 81 on the list, and also was ranked as the No. 3 returning player in the Ivy League behind Brown defender Jack Hagstrom and Dartmouth forward Eduvie Ikoba. The Columbia junior was an All-Region honoree a season ago and earned All-Ivy League accolades for the second straight year. Splitting time between the midfield and defensive side of the ball, the Ottawa, Ontario, native enters the 2018 slate with three career goals and two career assists. Also making the Ivy League Top-20 from Columbia was junior midfielder John Denis (No. 6), sophomore defender Blake Willis(No. 11), and junior midfielder Danny Laranetto (No. 14). The 2018 campaign gets under way on Friday, August 31, in a 7:00 p.m. kick at Kentucky.
