Wright Earns ECFC Offensive Player of the Week after Dominating Performance Against Maine Maritime

MARSHFIELD, Mass. - The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) named senior quarterback Thomas Wright (Wantagh, N.Y., Wantagh) the Offensive Player of the Week following his performance against Maine Maritime in the Privateers season opener. Wright was effective and efficient for SUNY Maritime totaling 264 yards through the air with a 70% completion rate and two touchdowns as he helped the Privateers take down the Mariners 36-8. Wright also found some holes running the ball and finished with 31 yards on seven attempts and one touchdown. In 2017, the Wantagh, NY native earned Second Team All-ECFC honors and picked up three weekly honors as Offensive Player of the Week. Wright finished th season with 2,385 yards and 17 touchdowns through the air and 246 yards rushing with eight touchdowns. Wright and the Privateers take the field for the home opener on Sep. 7 against Massachusetts Maritime at 7:00 p.m.
