Monroe Men’s Soccer Holds at No. 2 in NJCAA Rankings


CHARLOTTE, N.C., September 11, 2018 – After improving to 4-0 on the season with another strong victory this past weekend, the Monroe College men's soccer team held on to the No. 2 spot in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Rankings, as announced by the NJCAA on Tuesday. The Mustangs visited then-No. 4 Mercer County Community College for a gritty matchup on Saturday. A strong Monroe team turned in an impressive effort, defeating the Vikings, 7-1. Ronaldo Da Silva scored three times for the Mustangs in their road victory, their second of the season against a nationally ranked opponent. Da Silva leads the Mustangs with five goals and 11 points on the season through four games. Caio Guazzelli is second with four goals and nine points. Luca Erhardt comes in third through the first four contests with three goals. Victor Camps leads the goalkeepers with a 3-0 record, sporting a 0.80 goals-against average and .857 save percentage. Monroe hits the road once again on Saturday, Sept. 15, when they visit Massasoit Community College in Brockton, Mass. The game is set to kick off at 2 p.m.
