Pace Men's Lacrosse Enjoys Unique Scrimmage Against Kwansei Gakuin University of Japan
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University men's lacrosse team hosted Kwansei Gakuin University of Japan lacrosse team for an international exhibition at Pace Stadium on Saturday afternoon. As part of Kwansei Gakuin's tour of the United States, the Japanese team took on the Setters in a friendly exhibition as Pace continues to gear up for the spring season. Kwansei Gakuin has also squared off against the likes of Hofstra University and SUNY Purchase during their trip to the United States. "We jumped at the opportunity to play an international team," said Pace Men's Lacrosse Coach, Tom Mariano. "Members of Kwansei Gakuin attended some of our practices last spring and enjoyed the atmosphere and culture we had—I am just happy we were able to get together and make this happen." Kwansei Gakuin is amongst the top collegiate lacrosse teams in Japan and features one of the nation's most diverse varsity athletic programs. The university is home to 34 varsity teams. Pace's fall schedule continues with a scrimmage against Mercy College on Oct. 12 and the annual Pace Lacrosse Alumni Game on Oct. 27 as part of Homecoming Weekend.
