Bailey, Ziemski, Acevedo, and Campbell Land All-ECAC Honors

On Friday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its Division III Football All-ECAC Teams for the 2018 season. Following a season which included a bowl game appearance, a second-place finish in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) and an overall record of 7-4, the Maritime Privateers football were well represented throughout the list of ECAC honorees. Among the four players to receive All-ECAC nods are junior linebacker Liam Bailey (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville), senior kicker Ian Ziemski (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright), senior offensive lineman Nicholas Acevedo (Woodside, N.Y./Holy Cross) and senior defensive lineman Payton Campbell (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls). Bailey earned All-ECAC First Team Defense after a season in which he led all Privateers in tackles with 126. Bailey's season was good enough to lead all ECFC players as well as rank him third all-time in single season tackles in ECFC history. Against USMMA, Bailey recorded 20 tackles which ties him the Maritime all-time single game record. Ziemski receives All-ECAC First Team Special Team honors as he put a close to his Privateers career with a solid 2018 campaign. The senior kicker connected on five field goals included a career best 42 yard field goal against Hampton. Acevedo earned a spot on the All-ECAC Second Team Offense. A staple of the Privateers offense, Acevedo made the start at tackle in all ten games this season and all 22 games the past two seasons. Campbell adds another honor to his name as he joins the All-ECAC Second Team Defense. Campbell enjoyed a 2018 season in which he became the Privateers all-time leader in sacks.
