Jordan Scarlett '17 Named to Jamaica's 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup Roster


MIAMI, FL – Former Iona men's soccer player Jordan Scarlett '17 has been named to the 40-player provisional roster of the Jamaican National Team for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. Scarlett currently plays for the New York Red Bulls II and is one of five players to be named to a national team roster; he is the only member of the Red Bulls II to be selected to represent a country. Each of the 16 national teams will trim its roster down to 23 players by the first week of June. The members of the 40-player provisional roster can be added to the final roster in the case of an injury at any time during the tournament. The event will be the biggest in its history with three host countries, 16 teams and 17 different stadiums. The 2019 Gold Cup will begin on Saturday, June 15. Jamaica is in Group C and will open up the tournament against Honduras in Kingston, Jamaica on June 17; it will mark the first time the tournament is played in the Caribbean.
