East Islip's Chloe Herzog joins women's lax from Queens
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — New York Tech women's lacrosse coach Kerri Handras has added another proficient scorer to her squad in time for the 2020 season. Attacker Chloe Herzog has transferred to Tech from Queens College after the elimination of the program there. Herzog, a 5-foot-1 East Islip native, started all 17 games for the Knights as a freshman this past spring. She produced 27 goals and five assists along with 27 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.\ Herzog scored a career-high five goals in a win against District of Columbia on April 6. She joins freshmen Caitlin Costello (Seaford), Kasha Elzinga (Sherwood Park, Alberta) and Nia Griffith (West Babylon) as newcomers to the Bears for the 2020 season. Tech produced a 13-5 overall record and 7-1 ECC mark last season and earned a share of the program's first-ever league regular-season title. "I'm really excited to be part of a team with such hard-working girls, who have made it so far in the past," Herzog said. "I'm looking forward to contributing to the success of the team this upcoming season."
