TCNJ Diving Coach Earns Double Gold in South Korea

GWANGJU, South Korea – The College of New Jersey diving coach Eric Blevins earned a pair of gold medals at the FINA World Masters Championships last week. Blevins topped the 35-39 year old age bracket in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events. It was Blevins' third trip to the world championships, and the previous experience was important to calming his nerves. Despite battling injuries during training, a strong support system including friends, family, and the TCNJ community helped him through the challenges of training and competition. "I was battling more nagging injuries this time around," said Blevins. "Thankfully nothing flared up during the competition. My family was back home in Virginia, so I didn't get to see them during the championships, but when I am finished I always return to more than 50 messages on my phone."
