Bears picked 7th and 8th in Indoor Track & Field polls


OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The 2019-20 ECC Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll was released on Friday. And in just the second year of the program's return after a 14-year absence, the Bears will have to prove themselves. The men's team was picked to finish seventh out of nine teams, while the women's team was picked tied for eighth with Post University. The women's poll was out of 10 teams. Georgian Court was picked to win the ECC on the men's side again this year after winning the title last year. The Lions have won the indoor championship in two of the past three years. On the women's side, Roberts Wesleyan was picked to win the ECC. The Redhawks finished in second place last year, only behind Georgian Court who won its first ever ECC indoor title. The Lions were picked to finish second in this year's poll. Here are the full polls: Men's:

  5. Queens – 35 points

  8. Daemen – 27 points

  9. Holy Family – 26 points

Women's:

  1. Roberts Wesleyan (4) – 88 points

  2. Georgian Court (6) – 86 points

  3. St. Thomas Aquinas – 80 points

  4. District of Columbia – 62 points

  5. Molloy – 47 points

  6. Damen – 42 points

  7. Queens – 40 points

  8. New York Tech – 36 points

  9. Post – 36 points

  10. Holy Family – 33 points
