No. 1 Seed Men's Basketball to Host No. 2 Seed Purchase College in Skyline Championship Game on
NEW YORK – The No. 1 seed (and nationally ranked No. 15) Yeshiva University men's basketball team will battle No. 2 seed Purchase College, in the Skyline Conference Championship game, at the Max Stern Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon. Tip-off is at 1:00 p.m. The doors will open for fans at 11:30 a.m. The winner of the championship showdown will not only claim the league title, but also earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III tournament. This is Yeshiva's (26-1) third straight trip to the conference championship game. If you cannot make it to the Max Stern Athletic Center, MacsLive will be broadcasting the game at YUMacs.com/MacsLive. You can also following the action on our live stats page by clicking here. The Maccabees have won 26 consecutive games, which is the longest winning streak in all of NCAA Division III. The Blue and White won all 16 league games during the regular season. This marks the fourth time that Yeshiva and Purchase (18-9) have met in the conference postseason in five seasons. The Macs are 2-1 in those games against the Panthers, including a victory in the Skyline Championship game at Purchase College Gymnasium that earned the Maccabees their first bid into the NCAA tournament in program history, back in the 2017-18 season. Yeshiva is coming off a tight victory over No. 5 seed Farmingdale State College, 74-69, in the Skyline Semifinal round on Thursday night. Yeshiva trailed by six with 8:02 to go, and were then down by a score of 67-66 with 1:45 left. However, thanks to great defense and clutch shooting down the stretch, the Maccabees were able to pull off the come-from-behind win and earn a berth in their third straight championship game.
