Wagner Marching Band Appears in Spider-Man: Far From Home
Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College Marching Band, under the direction of Jose Diaz, Jr., has made its third feature film cameo, as the Seahawks make an appearance in the superhero action film Spider-Man: Far From Home, which was released nationwide yesterday. The band was also featured in the Netflix movie Okja, released in June of 2017, and the Lionsgate film Nerve, released in 2014.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the much anticipated follow-up to Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to be released since Avengers: Endgame, which is currently the second highest grossing of all time. "Getting to be in Far From Home means that we are able to showcase all of the things that make the Wagner College Marching Band an amazing community to be a part of with audiences worldwide," said Jessica Vincello, Vice President of the Marching Band. Margaret Winton, President of the Marching Band, added "the fact that an athletic band from a small college on Staten Island was able to participate in something as famous and world-renowned as a Marvel movie is really a testament to the band's professionalism, ability, and the dedication of its members to produce great music." This is the fourth time that the Seahawk band has performed in front of the cameras as several band members appeared in an episode of the musical drama "RISE" in April of 2018.
