Gladney Named First-Team Preseason All-American by D3football.com

ITHACA, N.Y. – D3football.com announced its Preseason All-Americans teams on Monday afternoon and rising junior Will Gladney of the Ithaca College football program landed on the First-Team offense. Ithaca, which is receiving votes in the D3football.com Preseason Top 25 Poll, opens its 2018 season at home on September 1 at 1 p.m. against St. Vincent. Gladney is coming off one of the best seasons in Ithaca College history as a wide receiver, as he hauled in 72 catches for 1,024 yards and seven touchdowns in 2017. He became just the second receiver in program history to amass more than 1,000 yards in a season, while his 72 receptions also ranked second in school history – both trail Joe Palumbo's 74 catches for 1,119 yards in 1993. As a sophomore, Gladney eclipsed 10-plus catches and 100-plus yards in three different games. Against Hobart on September 30, the 6-foot, 3-inch 225-pound wide out set career bests with 12 catches for 183 yards. He also had a 10-catch, 147-yard performance against Alfred and 10 receptions for 82 yards versus Union. Gladney also rattled off 180 yards on seven grabs against St. Lawrence last season. In two career games against Cortland, the Owego, N.Y. native has totaled 16 catches for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Through two seasons on South Hill, Gladney has totaled 105 receptions for 1,543 yards and 13 touchdowns in 20 games played. He heads into the 2018 campaign 46 receptions and 408 yards shy from setting both school records. Ithaca went 8-3 last season and capped off the turnaround year with a 27-17 victory over Salisbury in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl in Delaware.
