LIU Welcomes Sam Faber as Assistant Women's Ice Hockey Coach


BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Long Island University women's ice hockey head coach Rob Morgan announced the addition of Sam Faber as a full-time assistant coach on Monday, June 3. Faber comes to Long Island with an outstanding hockey pedigree, playing at the highest level of women's ice hockey while also coaching at the youth and prep school levels of competition. During her most recent stint as a player, Faber served as a team captain for the Connecticut Whale, one of the four founding teams in the first professional women's hockey league in North America. Her professional career also includes time with the Boston Blades, one of the five teams in the Canadian Women's Hockey League where she led the Blades in scoring and finished eighth in the league during the 2010-11 season.
