THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime football scheduled has been announced for the upcoming 2018 schedule. The upcoming slate will be a split schedule with five home games on Reinhart Field and five road games. Last year Maritime finished the regular season with a 9-1 overall record during the regular season, which is its second-highest win total in program history. The team went 3-0 in non-conference play and followed that up with a 6-1 mark in Eastern Collegiate Football Conference contests. Maritime will open the 2018 season with a road game as the Privateers will meet the Maine Maritime Mariners on Ritchie Field in Castine, Maine for the season opener at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 1. After the road trip to Maine, the Privateers will host both Mass. Maritime and Merchant Marine on successive Fridays. Maritime will host the Buccaneers of Mass. Maritime on Friday, September 7 and will meet the Merchant Marine Mariners for a contest on September 14. Both games are currently slated for 7 p.m. starts on Reinhart Field. Following the team's bye week on the fourth week of the season, the Privateers will open ECFC action with a battle against the Husson Eagles on Saturday, September 29 with a 1 p.m. kickoff scheduled. Three of the next four contests will come on the road with the team's first-ever trip to Alfred State on Saturday, October 6 before the team welcomes Dean to Reinhart Field for a 2 p.m. Homecoming Start on Saturday, October 13. Maritime closes out the month of October when it heads on the road to Castleton (October 20) and Anna Maria (October 27). With the sudden dissolution of Mount Ida College, a vacancy was left in Maritime's original schedule. However, the Privateers were able to fill the vacant week in its slate with Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) member Hampton. The Privateers and Pirates will meet on Reinhart Field on Saturday, November 3 for the final home game of the season.
