Four Red Foxes Named Preseason All-PFL

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Four Marist football players were named Preseason All-Pioneer Football League on Monday. Fifth-year senior linebacker Willie Barrett, fifth-year free safety Wesley Beans, senior wide receiver Juston Christian, and red-shirt junior nose tackle Eddie Zinn-Turner were recognized by the league. In 2017, was named First Team All-PFL, PFL Defensive Player of the Week twice and Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) twice.
Last season, led the Red Foxes in fumble recoveries (three) and tackles for loss (nine-and-a-half). Was tied for the team lead in sacks (three) and forced fumbles (two). His three fumble recoveries were the most by a Red Fox in the last 15 years.
Was named Second Team All-PFL in 2016.
Wesley Beans
Was named Honorable Mention All-PFL in 2017 and Second Team All-PFL in 2016.
Has led the team in tackles each of the last two years (77 in 2016, 72 in 2017).
Intercepted six passes in 2016.
Juston Christian
Named First Team All-PFL each of the last two seasons, and Second Team All-PFL in 2015.
Caught 60 passes for 1,096 yards and five touchdowns in 2017. The yardage total was the second highest in a season in program history.
