McCarty, Polhamus Honored by IWLCA


WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior Kristen McCarty and junior Nikki Polhamus of the Army West Point women's lacrosse team were both named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. In total, the IWLCA honored 462 student-athletes from 105 different institutions. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. McCarty collected her second academic honor from the IWLCA, being named to the team in 2017. She has also been named to the Patriot League's Academic Honor Roll in each of the past three seasons and earned a spot on the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Academic Honor Roll this year. The Allentown, Pa., native graduated in May with a 3.708 GPA and a degree in Environmental Engineering. McCarty is a member of the Medical Service branch and posted to Fort Rucker, Ala., for Medevac training. Polhamus garnered a spot on the academic honor roll in her first year of eligibility. The Granger, Ind., native owns a 3.535 GPA and is majoring in Engineering Management. She has compiled five academic honors throughout her career so far as a member of the Patriot League's Academic Honor Roll in each of the last three seasons and was also selected to the ECAC Academic Honor Roll this year. The Black Knights documented their best season to date on the field with the first .500 season at 10-7.
