From Rose Hill to the Majors: Former Ram to Make MLB Debut
San Diego, Calif. – (August 7, 2018) – With an impressive list of accomplishments this season, playing for the El Paso Chihuahuas, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres in the Pacific Coast League, former Fordham Ram pitcher Brett Kennedy got the call every baseball player hopes to get. He's going to "the show." Kennedy, who just turned 24 on August 4th, will make his Major League debut this Wednesday for the San Diego Padres, when the team visits the Milwaukee Brewers, it was announced by San Diego manager Andy Green over the weekend. Game time is set for 8:00 PM ET. "I am really excited for Brett! This is a day that he has worked towards his entire life, and a day he will always remember," said Fordham baseball coach Kevin Leighton. "He has earned this opportunity and knowing Brett, he will make the most of it and continue to strive to be the best pitcher he can be. He is an exceptional representative of our program and Fordham University. I can't wait to see him in a major league uniform!"
