SEVEN INCOMING ROWERS SET TO COMPETE AT 2018 JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC


Seven incoming Tiger rowers will make a quick stop in the Czech Republic this week before turning their attention towards beginning their undergraduate careers at Princeton. Members of the heavyweight, open and men's lightweight Classes of 2022 will compete at the 2018 World Junior Championships, which will run from Wednesday, August 8, through Sunday, August 12. Four members of the heavyweight incoming class will compete for either the American or British squads, and one each will be in the M8+ competition. Eli Kalfaian, the youngest brother of former open rower Anna Kalfaian, will row in the 7 seat for the USA, while Axel De Boissard is set to cox the British 8+. He will make an early connect Robert Powell earned the bow seat for the British pair, while Nate Phelps will stroke the US 4x. Two incoming open rowers will compete for the American team this week. Hannah Schaenman will compete for the USA W8+, while future teammate Camille Vandermeer will stroke the W2x. The lone lightweight recruit will sit face-to-face with De Boissard, as George Dickinson is set to stroke the British 8+.
