Football selected No. 2 in Northeast-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference football coaches selected LIU Post second in the league's preseason coaches' poll following a runner-up finish in the NE10 standings during the 2017 season. The Pioneers garnered 76 points and four first-place votes in the poll, finishing just one point behind Assumption College for the top spot in the preseason rankings. LIU Post boasted the top offense in the conference last season, averaging nearly 500 yards and over 42 points per game. The high-powered offense returns several weapons this season, including redshirt-senior running back Malik Pierre and graduate student wide-out Michael Richardson who combined for 30 touchdowns a year ago. The Pioneers are looking to replace the 2017 Offensive Player of the Year in Yianni Gavalas and Offensive Lineman of the Year in Joseph Lacey and will be looking to its supporting staff to fill the void as the team pursues its second conference title in three years. 2018 will feature 10-consecutive weeks of action for LIU Post as the Pioneers begin the season with a bye during week one and will open play against American International College on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
