David Tottori Qualifies for 75th Arizona Open Championship

LAS VEGAS, NV – St. Francis Brooklyn red-shirt senior David Tottori has had quite the summer as he has been marking his mark on golf courses throughout Las Vegas. Tottori qualified for the 75thArizona Open Championship after tying for first at the Arizona Open qualifier on Monday, July 30, at the Las Vegas National Golf Club. Tottori finished in a three-way tie for first after he shot a 69 (-2) at the 18-hole qualifier. "Qualifying for the Arizona Open is a huge deal because it would be my first professional event," noted Tottori. "I think it will give me some good momentum going straight into the fall season." On the front nine, the red-shirt senior tallied three consecutive pars, followed by a birdie on the fourth hole, which was a par five. He went on to par holes five through nine for a 35 (-1). On the back nine, Tottori tallied a pair of birdies and an eagle en route to his first-place finish. He birdied holes 11 and 15 and dropped in an eagle on the 18th hole. "I was just keeping the ball in play off the tee, and then I guess I took advantage of the par five there and I made some key puts," he explained. Tottori's impressive play continued this past weekend at the Western Classic, which took place August 4-5, at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. Round one took place at Paiute Sun Mountain Course followed by the second round at Paiute Wolf Course. Tottori finished in first with a two-day score of 136 (-8); his final mark was five strokes better than the runner-up.
