Men’s Basketball Defeats Dream Team Select Nick Honor and Antwon Portley net 18 points each for Rams


Ponte Buggianese, Italy – Make it 2-0 for the Fordham men's basketball team so far on its 2018 European trip as freshman Nick Honor and junior Antwon Portleyeach netted 18 points to lead the Rams to an 83-58 win over Dream Team Select. Some notes on the game: Portley, who sat out last year at Fordham after transferring from Saint Peter's, was 8-for-15 from the field and he now has 41 points in the two games. Honor, who was a perfect 3-for-3 from behind the arc, finished in double figures for the second straight game while grad student Jesse Bunting added 15 points and seven rebounds. Fordham hit eleven three-pointers in the game, going 10-for-25 from behind the arc, the second straight game with double digits three-pointers made. The Rams played their usual aggressive defense, forcing 28 turnovers and recording 15 steals. The Fordham defense held Dream Team Select to shooting 39.3% (22-556), including 18.8% (3-16) from the three-point line. The Rams continue the trip with a game against LCC International University in Como on Friday at 12:30 PM (EST).
