Argentina Trip Game Four Recap: SHU 75, Argentina U18 71


The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team played its fourth and final game, defeating the Argentina U18 National Team, 75-71, at CENARD. The Pioneers finish the competitive part of the trip with a 2-2 record, winning their final two games.

The Pioneers had three scorers reach double digits, after having two surpass that mark in the last game. Adrianne Hagood led the team with 21 points, connecting on 11 free throws in the game. Katherine Haines scored 14 points, and Erin Storck added 10, both hitting from behind the arc in the win.

SHU jumped out to an early lead and built at 16-14 advantage. The Pioneers scored the first five points of the second-quarter and built a 32-20 advantage and withstood a rally from the host, taking a 39-33 lead into the halftime break. SHU rebuilt the lead with a strong third quarter, pushing its advantage back to double digits, 65-54, entering the final quarter. That lead remained double digits until the closing minutes, when Argentina made a run; closing within two points. Hagood and Jayla Davis combined for three free throws in the final two possessions of the game to seal the victory.
