WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Monmouth University fifth year senior Ryan Wetzel (Freehold, NJ/Colts Neck) and junior Tymere Berry (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) have been named as team captains for the 2018 season. Wetzel, a three-year starter on the offensive line, was named First Team All-Big South as a junior. The Freehold, NJ native was a preseason all-conference selection and is a AFCA AllState GoodWorks Team nominee. "Ryan has been a dominant personality on this team for a number of years," said Monmouth Head Coach Kevin Callahan. He's always the first up when it comes to community service and he is an extremely hard worker whether it is in the weight room or the summer program. There is no doubt as a veteran offensive lineman he's the leader of that unit. Being named captain is really a result of all the hard work he's put in but also a result of the respect that our team has for him."
