Field hockey ranked 19th in preseason Division III poll

Hamilton College kicks off this season at No. 19 in the 2018 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III preseason Top 20 poll released on Tuesday, August 28. NFHCA D3 poll 082818 The Continentals ended last season ranked 20th in the coaches poll after they finished with a 9-6 overall record and tied for third place in the NESCAC standings with a 6-4 mark. Hamilton was the fourth seed for the 2017 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship and hosted a quarterfinal for the second year in a row. The Continentals return all-America forward Michaela Giuttari '20 and two-time all-region goalie Julia Booth '19, who was an all-American as a sophomore in 2016. Head Coach Missy Mariano is in her second year at Hamilton. Nine of the Continentals' 15 opponents are either ranked or one of the top five among the "others receiving votes" in the preseason poll. Hamilton is one of seven NESCAC teams appearing in the preseason Top 20.
