NCC Wins on The Road Against Hudson Valley


Troy, NY) The Nassau Lions traveled to Troy, New York to compete against the Hudson Valley Vikings on Saturday, September 1st. Hudson Valley came out strong and challenged Nassau from the first snap. In the first half returning Sophomore, Rashad Tucker, rushed from the Lions 20 yard line for a 40 yard gain. Additionally, Freshman Wide-Receiver, Jaelin Hood, had 41 yard reception down to the Hudson Valley 15 yard line. Going into the second half, Rashad Tucker had a 64-yard return. On the same drive, Quarterback Steven Genovathrew a 30 yard touchdown pass to Marcus Layne to push the Lions further ahead. The turning point of the game was when Sophomore Michael Brooks forced a fumble and helped Nassau clinch the win 41-26 over the Vikings. Head Coach Jamel Ramsay commented after the game that it was great for the Lions to have their first win, "but we still have a lot to improve, which we plan to do every day in practice until our next match."
