Panzarino, Wilson Tabbed to D3football.com Team of the Week


MADISON, N.J. (September 4, 2018) - Seniors Mike Panzarino and Ryan Wilson of the FDU-Florham football team were selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week Tuesday.; Panzarino claims his third Team of the Week honor of his career, having gained one in each of the previous two seasons, while Wilson earns the first of his career. The senior duo contributed on both sides of the ball, leading the Devils to a 35-21 triumph over The College of New Jersey Friday evening. Wilson notched two first half interceptions, his first two of the season. Entering this campaign, the senior had only registered one interception in his previous 20 games. On the second pick, TCNJ was facing a 3rd and 9 at their own 26 yard line. Wilson picked off a deflected ball and returned it to the TCNJ 33 yard line. Four plays later, senior Jagger Green found Panzarino for a 13 yard score, putting FDU up 28-0. Panazarino caught 16 passes Friday night, going for 224 yards and four touchdowns. In the first half alone, the senior hauled in three scores, giving the team a comfortable 28-7 lead heading into halftime. He had touchdowns of 15, 1, 13 and 5 yards, accounting for 24 of the teams 35 points. In Division III, Panzarino is first in receptions per game (16.0), second with scoring (24.) and receiving touchdowns (4), and third in receiving yards per game (224.0). The Fairfield, N.J. native slid past Vic Moncato in second all-time in career receptions (174) and entered the top-5 in receiving touchdowns (14) after his performance this past week. Wilson, Panzarino and the rest of the Devils will be back in action Saturday, taking on William Paterson in their first road game of the year.
