Reed's First Game with #32 Jersey and He Claims E8 Defensive Player of the Week

ALFRED, NY -- The very first week that Cole Reed (Gratz, PA/Upper Dauphin Area) wore the #32 jersey for Alfred University football, he gave such a performance that the Empire 8 recognized him as the Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Reed will wear #32 all season in honor of the late, Saxon great, Nicholas Clark '11. He led the team in tackles with 11 from six assisted and five solo. He also helped record a sack for a loss of four yards. Reed rounded out the day with a pass breakup in the 44-16 win against Thiel College on Saturday in the Saxons' season-opener in The Pit. Reed and the Saxons have a week off before they host Ithaca College on Saturday, September 15 at 1PM in The Pit.
