Women's Soccer Wins Season Opener Over Yeshiva, 2-0

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's soccer team started the 2018 season on the right foot this evening, defeating Yeshiva University, 2-0, at Brooklyn College Field. Yeshiva drops to 0-3 with the loss. The Bulldogs will take to the road on Saturday, September 8th, as they travel to Cairn University for a 2:30 pm kickoff. Making her BC debut, freshman forward, Deborah Vixama, scored the game-winner in the sixth minute of the match on a nice cross from freshman midfielder, Rachel Gomez. Yeshiva would keep the Bulldogs scoreless for the rest of the first half and most of the second half on some solid goalie play Rivka Lindenblatt. However, the Bulldogs eventually wore the Maccabees down in the 86th minute. It would be Gomez once again with a perfect long assist to a sprinting Keri Kenna for the insurance score. BC freshman keeper, Amanpreet Kaur, finished with two saves in all ninety minutes for the clean sheet. Brooklyn out-shot Yeshiva 11-3 on the evening including 10-2 on shots-on-goal.
