Bryant Tops Marist Football, 37-27
SMITHFIELD, Rhode Island – The Marist football team dropped a non-league game on Saturday at Bryant by a score of 37-27. In the first quarter, senior wide receiver Juston Christian set the program's all-time record with his 20th career touchdown reception. It came on an 80-yard reception from red-shirt freshman quarterback Mike Husni in the first quarter.
SUMMARY
Bryant had the game's first score, a 49-yard touchdown pass from Price Wilson to Jean Constant at the 10:58 mark of the first quarter.
The Bulldogs' next drive reached the Marist 7, but Gavin Rowley hit the left upright on a 24-yard field goal attempt. The next play from scrimmage was Husni's 80-yard touchdown pass to Christian down the left sideline.
Bryant answered with a touchdown on its next drive. Daniel Adeboboye's one-yard touchdown run capped a 14-play, 58-yard drive.
Rowley added a 28-yard field goal to give Bryant a 17-7 lead, but later missed a 34-yard field goal.
With 25 seconds remaining in the first half, red-shirt sophomore linebacker Grant Dixon intercepted a pass and took off down the left sideline for a 62-yard touchdown.
Marist received the second half kickoff, and needed just four plays to go 72 yards for a go-ahead touchdown. Husni connected with Chrsitian for the second time in the game, this time from 20 yards out. Red-shirt sophomore Darryn Jordan had carries of 30 and 19 yards on the drive.
Bryant re-claimed the lead at 23-20 after Alfred Dorbor scored a one-yard rushing touchdown with exactly seven minutes left in the third quarter. The Bulldogs maintained their three-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
With 12:07 left, Bryant ran its lead to 30-20 on 25-yard touchdown pass from Wilson to Constant. The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard again 3:03 later on a 62-yard pass from Wilson to Shelton McNeal.
With two seconds remaining, Husni ran for an eight-yard touchdown.

In the first half, Bryant ran 65 plays to Marist's 24, and held a 20:32-9:28 advantage in time of possession. The Bulldogs ran 99 plays in the game to the Red Foxes' 65.
Bryant held a 568-378 edge in total yards, but Marist averaged more yards per play (5.82 to 5.74).
Christian caught four passes for 144 yards.
Jordan ran for a team-high 70 yards.
Dixon and red-shirt senior cornerback Brandon Miller each had nine tackles.
Wilson finished 32-for-50 for 375 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for Bryant.
