Monroe Women’s Cross Country Claims Top Prize at Queensborough Invite


BRONX, N.Y., September 16, 2018 – With some of the top performances at the Queensborough Community College Invitational on Sunday, including five Top-11 finishes, the Monroe College women's cross country team won the 5K meet at Van Cortlandt Park for their first top finish of the season. Claudrice McKoy made the biggest splash on Sunday, taking first place overall against a field of 200 runners with a time of 19:38.4. McKoy was also the top finisher in last year's Queensborough Invitational. Faten Laribi placed third at the meet on Sunday. The freshman finished in 21:15.2 for her first Top-3 finish as a collegiate student-athlete. Lethabo Seema came in sixth overall at Van Cortlandt Park, clocking in at 21:57.4. Joanna Archer took 10th place, finishing in 22:29.5. Malethabo Seema finished 11th overall with a time of 22:27.3. Elizabeth Mendy finished 51st overall at 22:47.2. Nicolette Lizaire ran a time of 27:45.3. The Mustangs will compete next on Saturday, Sept. 29, when they travel to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the University of Louisville Classic.
