Atlanta, GA - This evening, the men's soccer team fell short in their second and final game of a weekend road trip against Georgia teams. After picking up a 3-0 shutout win against Millsaps Collage, the Privateers fell short against nationally ranked Emory University by a score of 3-0. Maritime is now 6-2 on the 2018 season as Emory improves to 5-0. Despite the Privateers first scoreless game this season, Maritime managed to total seven shots on the evening against a nationally ranked Emory defense. The Privateers offensive efforts were led by Parker Gallt (Las Vegas, Nev/Plainfield South (Ill.)) and Christopher Tavernese (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City). Gallt and Tavernese both had two shot attempts in the game as well as one shot on goal apiece. Tavernese, who leads the Privateer son the season with six goals continue his explosive offense, this time against a nationally ranked opponent. Gallt's first shot came in the fourth minute of the contest which was the first shot attempt by either team. Gallt's shot would set the tone for what would be a battle on both ends of the pitch.
