Women's Soccer Shuts Out Stockton, 2-0


GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team shut out Stockton University, 2-0 on Thursday night. The game was rescheduled from Wednesday, Sept. 26 due to lightning. The Profs scored one goal in each half. Forward Daria Jones (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) scored at 31:37 with a shot that hit the right post and went in the net. She had a pass from forward Cathryn McCarry (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.). McCarry knocked in a rebound for the second marker (70:45) after her first shot was blocked. It was the ninth goal on the season for Jones and the third for McCarry. The shots were even with each team totaling 10. For the Ospreys, Nicole Pallante (sr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) had three saves. Goalkeeper Shelby Money (sr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) stopped five shots for her third shutout on the season. Rowan has a seven-game win streak and a 7-1 record with a 3-0 conference mark. Stockton is 6-2-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Next, Rowan travels to conference opponent Kean University on Saturday, Sept. 29 for an 11:30 a.m. game.
