READING, Pa. (September 29, 2018) - The FDU-Florham football team picked up a 48-34 triumph over Albright on Saturday afternoon. The Devils move to 4-1 for the first time since 1995, and are now 2-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. Albright drops to 0-5, and 0-3 in the conference. FDU returned the scoring on their first possession, going 81 yards in just three plays. After running for a loss of five yards and a penalty set up a 3rd and 20, senior Jagger Green hit junior Khrystan Camillo for a season-long 91 yard touchdown pass. The teams traded touchdowns on the next two drives, with Green connecting with classmate Mike Panzarino for a 39 yard touchdown pass. The pass closed out a six play, 75 yard scoring drive. The Lions went into the second quarter with a 20-14 lead, as a Kyle Dickerson five yard run capped off a 15 play, 86 yard drive that took 6:28 off of the clock. Both sides turned the ball over on downs with their next possession, but the Lions closed out the first half with two straight touchdowns, leading 34-21. The Devils defense buckled down in the second half, keeping Albright off of the scoreboard. The defensive unit turned Albright over on downs three times and forced two punts in addition to an interception on six series. FDU took the second half kickoff and marched down the field to the tune of 11 plays in 75 yards. The series ended with Green finding Camillo in the endzone for the second time. Steve Iannone kept the drive alive with a 14 yard run on 4th and 2 from the Albright 32. FDU knotted the game at 34 late in third quarter, taking advantage of a pair of Albright defensive penalties. With the Devils facing a 4th and 11 at the Albright 19, Green found Damarquis Price for a touchdown, the fourth in as many games for Price. Junior Jose Caceres had a big sack on the next Albright series to force 3rd and long, and senior Isaiah Turner broke the game open for the Devils. Lahay was pressured by senior Robert Planter, and tossed up a pass that Turner intercepted and returned 45 yards for the pick six, giving FDU their first lead of the night. The Lions forced a fumble with 6:52 left in the fourth, setting up Albright at midfield looking for the tying score. The defense came up with a huge stop, getting the offense the ball back at their own 45 yard line. The Devils took 4:20 off of the clock, with Green and Panzarino connecting for a nine yard touchdown. Albright had one final possession, but Turner tallied two sacks on the drive to stop the comeback. Green went 26-for-46 with 335 yards and six touchdowns which matched his school-record. Camillo and Panzarino combined for 19 catches and 289 yards with five scored, as Price hauled in three catches. Defensively, Turner had 16 tackles, including two sacks, three tackles for a loss and the pick-six. Junior Javanughn Wright contributed seven tackles and two pass breakups.
