Condas, Kiani Doubles Team Wins Flight Championship at West Point Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Freshmen Nicole Condas and Madi Kiani went undefeated in Flight C Doubles over the weekend at the West Point Invitational to claim the lone title for the Colgate Women's Tennis team. In the title match, Condas and Kiani claimed their fourth straight victory when they topped Runsi Patro and Sandra Siles Polo of St. Francis by a 6-3 final. A win from Elinor Simek and Ricki Lane in the same flight helped Colgate combine for a 6-2 record on the way to the championship. Elsewhere in the three-day event, Mackenzie Deeter had the best run for the Raiders in singles competition. She lost her opening round matchup to second-seeded Sofya Treschcheva of Syracuse by an 8-2 tally before she won a pair of consolation matches against competitors from Bryant and St. Bonaventure. FROM THE SOURCE Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach Jordan Rucks "Overall, I thought the girls showed up ready to compete this weekend," said Rucks. "Kiani and Condas had a great run in doubles winning the flight title. Deeter and Lauren O'Brien also had strong singles performances." "Lots of good to take away from this weekend," said Rucks. "We had one of the best energy teams out there, proving to other teams and ourselves that we are in it to win it and should be on everyone's radar this season."
