FOOTBALL NOTES: LOVETT EARNS 6TH WEEKLY IVY HONOR, TIGERS MOVE TO #23 IN COACHES POLL

After yet another dominating offensive performance, senior quarterback John Lovett picked up his sixth career Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, which matches him with Keith Elias '94 and Quinn Epperly '15 for eighth-most all-time Player of the Week honors in Ivy history. The only Princeton player with more Ivy weekly awards is placekicker Taylor Northrop '02, a seven-time Special Teams Player of the Week. Lovett, who earned the honor the previous week after throwing five touchdown passes in a win over Monmouth, proved to be a terror in both the run and pass game Friday night on ESPNU. He rushed 17 times for a career-best 174 yards and two touchdowns, and he also completed 12 passes for 135 yards and two more touchdown passes to Stephen Carlson. Just as impressively, he guided a Princeton offense that didn't commit a single turnover for the third straight game; this is the first time in the 2000s that Princeton has gone three straight games without turning the ball over. Lovett will enter Saturday's game against Lehigh leading the FCS in points responsible for per game (28.7), is ranked second nationally in passing efficiency (185.2), and fourth in rushing yards per carry (8.9). As a team, Princeton moved to #23 in the latest AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25 Poll, which was released Monday. The Tigers are one of four FCS programs without a loss this season, a quartet that includes #1 North Dakota State, #20 Colgate, and unranked Dartmouth.
