Dean Garners National Attention

ROCKPORT, N.Y. – The No. 4 ranked College at Brockport football's Austin Dean picked up some national attention following his Courage Bowl performance against St. John Fisher College, earning him a place on the D3football.com Team of the Week. Dean helped lead a stifling Brockport defense that rendered St. John Fisher College helpless in a 49-7 Courage Bowl win. The senior picked up six tackles on the day, including 1.5 sacks and three tackles for a loss of nine yards. Dean also played a pivotal role in holding SJFC scoreless through the majority of the contest, when he blocked a 31-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter. The Golden Eagles will return to action on Oct. 6 when they continue Empire 8 play on the road against Hartwick College. The contest is set for a 2 p.m. kick off in Oneonta, N.Y.
