Men’s Water Polo Tops Princeton on Senior Night


BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – The St. Francis Brooklyn men's water polo team (4-9, 4-1 NEWPC) picked up its fourth win in its last five contests with a 12-10 victory over Princeton on Wednesday night. With the win, the Terriers improved to 4-1 in conference play as they picked up an impressive four wins in their pool over the first week of NEWPC play. Before the match, the men's water polo program honored its five seniors (Jonas Veazey, Botond Kadar, Nikita Prokhin, Bogdan Kostic, and Ognjen Antanaskovic).   • The Terriers scored the game's first goal and never looked back as they led wire-to-wire en route to their fourth win of the season. With the win, the Terriers currently sit in first place in the NEWPC with four wins for a total of eight points.

  • Senior attacker Botond Kadar led the Terriers on offense as he finished the night with a game-high four goals, two assists, and two steals.

  • Freshman defender Djorde Stanic added five points (two goals, three assists) in the victory.

  • Senior defender Nikita Prokhin notched a pair of goals and tallied one assist for the Terriers.

  • Junior goalie Benedek Molnar recorded seven saves as he picked up his third win in net this season.

  • The win over Princeton at home marks the second-straight victory against the Tigers in the SFC Aquatic Center. The Terriers defeated the Tigers in their lone meeting in Brooklyn Heights last season, 13-10.
