This is the first time in program history that Brockport football has started back-to-back seasons with a 5-0 start. Posting 480-yards on the day and four sacks for 45-yards lost, the Brockport one-two punch of offense and defense was in full effect. Tim Terry and Lawrence Jenkins had five solo tackles apiece, allowing quarterback Joe Germinerio 199-yards in the air. Alex Benson was the biggest recipient of the passing attack, finishing with four receptions for 64-yards. With the brilliant effort by Germinerio he moves himself up the record books to number two in all time career-passing yards with 6,184. Alfred University, who currently holds a record of 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference, will be a tough test for the Golden Eagles and force them to bring their best effort. Alfred has also received five votes in the D3football.com Top 25. Last time the two teams met, Brockport secured a 35-25 win. Christian Hollister was the spearhead for Brockport's rushers totaling 61-yards. Leading the defensive surge was Austin Dean who collected two sacks for 11-yards lost. The Green and Gold are currently No. 1 in the nation for their red zone defense as well as their rushing defense, which currently has held all competitors to a total of negative 5.3-yards rushing per game. Rashad Baker also holds a national No. 1 spot with 13 passes defended and nears the Brockport single-season record of 16. With another year of experience under their belt, Brockport's leaders will battle once more versus the Saxons. This will be Brockport's second meeting on the road but return to home field advantage against Buffalo State in the I-90 Bowl the next week.
