Brockport Football - Game Seven Preview

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – After coming off a record-breaking week, the College at Brockport football team brings their efforts back home for a week seven matchup against Buffalo State in the I-90 Bowl on Saturday at 4 p.m. DATE – TIME: October 20th, 2018 – 4 p.m. LOCATION: Bob Boozer Field –Brockport, N.Y. LINKS: Video | Stats | Game Notes The team heads into Saturday's game with the highest national ranking in school history after jumping to number three on the D3football.com top 25 list. The Golden Eagles also picked up two Empire 8 recognitions, with Tyree Brown securing Offensive Player of the Week and Dustin Moyle taking his second straight Special Teams Player of the Week. In what was supposed to be their toughest matchup yet this season, Brown and Moyle shined under the pressure. Brown scored five touchdowns, accounting for seven receptions for 139-yards and three scores including a 61-yard receiving touchdown while Moyle had a perfect day on extra points completing all seven attempts. Brockport's offensive efforts wouldn't have been possible without the strong performance from QB Joe Germinerio, who completed 17 of 24 in the air for 284 total yards and four touchdowns. With a sixth victory under their belt, the Golden Eagles look to make the Bengals their seventh victim on the road to another perfect season. The last time these two teams met, the Green and Gold made an example of the Bengals, shutting them out 33-0, posting 24 of the 33 points in the first quarter. The Golden Eagle defense continuously opened opportunities for Germinerio and the offense to command the field. Junior Alex West ended the day with eight tackles and 3.5 sacks. The powerhouse defense led by West allowed Germinerio to lead the offense, completing 18 of 26 for 226-yards and three passing touchdowns. Wide receiver DaQuan Hubbard would join him in the fun, finishing the day with 112 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. If the team can once again put all of the pieces together, they are looking at another outstanding weekend ahead. After this matchup, the Golden Eagles only have three games left in the regular season, with only one home matchup remaining on the schedule, a senior day celebration on Nov. 3 against SUNY Cortland. Brockport is set to head back on the road next weekend where they will take on the Utica College Pioneers at 2 p.m. Be sure to stay up to date on all your Golden Eagles news, scores and awards by following @BportAthletics on Twitter and by liking the "Brockport Golden Eagles" Facebook page.
