Sailing Closes Out Fall Campaign At War Memorial

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell sailing has had an unprecedented run through its fall season and will attempt to finish on a high note when it competes in the coed War Memorial beginning on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Navy. Since the women went varsity in 2014, the Big Red has placed as high as fourth in 2015 when it hosted the event on Cayuga Lake. Cornell placed seventh in the conference field last fall, moving up three spots on the final day of competition to grab a spot in the ACC championships. With the ACC meet no longer on the schedule, head coach Brian Clancy's squad will instead try and launch itself forward to the spring. Cornell will be among 18 teams vying for the title at the War Memorial, joining Christopher Newport, Fordham, George Washington, Georgetown, Hampton, Hobart & William Smith, Old Dominion, Queen's, SUNY Maritime, St. Mary's (Md.), Stevens, Kings Point, Navy, Penn, Virginia, Washington and Webb.
