Polo Teams Return Home After Virginia Weekend

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's and women's polo teams return home after splitting a pair of matches at the Virginia Fall Invitational and will attempt to advance their record in front of a friendly Oxley Equestrian Center crowd. The women will host regional rival Skidmore on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m., while the men meet Gardnertown Polo Club on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The women are 2-2 and coming off a 12-8 win over Kentucky last weekend at the UVA Fall Invite. Cornell also owns a dominant 36-2 victory over Massachusetts and will attempt to nreak the .500 mark for the first time this season when it meets a Thoroughbred team it has defeated 36 consecutive times dating back to the 2005-06 season when the Big Red dropped a 9-8 contest in Saratoga Springs. The men are off to a 3-1 start with its lone loss a two-goal defeat at the hands of Kentucky in the opening game of the UVA Fall Tournament. The Big Red came back the following day with a 12-6 triumph over regional foe Western Ontario.
