Football Tangles with Wesley in Delaware on Saturday

Montclair, NJ - Montclair State is on the road this week heading down the New Jersey Turnpike and to the capital of Delaware where it will face Wesley College at Wolverine Stadium. The Red Hawks will look to snap a two-game losing streak after coming up short against No. 4 Frostburg State 24-17 at home last week. Montclair led 10-3 at halftime and battled back late to tie the game late before the Bobcats answered with the go-ahead score with five minutes left. JA'QUILL BURCH threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns while linebacke GIUSEPPE GUGLIUZZA registered 14 tackles and a sack. Meanwhile the No. 7 Wolverines suffered a 28-27 loss at Rowan a week ago as a missed extra point proved to be the difference. Khaaliq Burroughs went 18-of-29 passing for 234 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. E.J. Lee carried the rock 15 times for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lee, Alex Kemp and Corterris Simpson each reeled in four passes. Kemp led the Wesley receivers with 73 yards receiving. This is the eighth meeting between the teams with Wesley holding a 4-3 advantage. Montclair captured the first three contests before the Wolverines earned their first in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Divison III Playoffs. Wesley has then added three more since the teams began meeting as NJAC foes in 2015.
