Robert Planter Selected to D3Football Team of the Week
MADISON, N.J. (November 6, 2018) - Senior defensive end Robert Planter of the FDU-Florham football team was selected to the D3Football.com Team of the Week Tuesday. Planter set a career-high with 3.0 sacks as the Devils knocked off Widener for the first time in 19 meetings. He notched seven tackles, including four and a half tackles for a loss in the 21-17 victory, also a career-high. With the Pride facing a 4th and 2 from near midfield, the senior burst through the line, tackling the running back for no gain. The Manchester, N.J. native is in the midst of a career-season and is third on the club with 41 tackles. His 9.0 sacks is tied for third on the single-season list, and notched his first career interception earlier this year. Planter intercepted a pass against William Paterson and returned it 47 yards for a touchdown. Planter joins classmates Mike Panzarino and Ryan Wilson as Devils to gain Team of the Week accolades this season.
