Football Closes Out 2018 Campaign at William Paterson
Montclair, NJ - What has been a successful campaign for Montclair State in 2018 comes to a close on Saturday as the Red Hawks make the short nine-mile journey to Wayne to face William Paterson at Wightman Stadium. MSU picked up its seventh win of the season with a 28-14 victory over Rowan at home. The Red Hawks scored all of their points in the first half. Quarterback JA'QUILL BURCH threw for 240 yards and four touchdown passes. The Red Hawks scored on four of their first five possessions in the game. WILLIE BARR accounted for 141 yards of offense rushing for 89 and catching five passes for 52 yards. CARSEN JOHNSON and STEPP OZIEGBE had four catches apiece. Linebacker MAURO ALTAMURA led the defensewith nine tackles. BRANDON BURDGE added six along with sack while BRENNAN RAY totaled six and a forced fumble. William Paterson comes into the game off a tough loss at Southern Virginia last week. The Pioneers held a 3-0 lead until the final 77 seconds when the Knights scored on a 38-yard touchdown pass for an 8-3 victory.
