Football Falls to Stevenson in Regular Season Finale


OWINGS MILLS, MD. (November 10, 2018) - The FDU-Florham football team loss 34-0 to Stevenson University Saturday afternoon in their regular season finale. The Devils fall to 6-4 overall and 4-4 within the MAC as the Mustangs improve to 8-2 overall and 7-1 in the MAC. Senior Jagger Green went 15-of-29 for 59 yards against the tough Stevenson defense that ranks second in the MAC in yards allowed per game. Senior Mike Panzarino hauled in 10 passes for 48 yards. Senior Isaiah Turner had a game high 15 tackles. The Mustangs totaled 145 rushing yards and 191 via the air, led Ty Crabb who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for seven yards. The Mustangs scored on all three sides of the ball in the contest. Stevenson scored on their first possession of the game and never looked back, going 65 yards in eight plays. FDU was unable to pick up a first down on their first six possessions. After a three and out on their first possession, the Devils threw an interception on their first play of their second drive. Midway through the second quarter, the Mustangs double their lead to 14-0 when Crabb completed a 27-yard pass on 3rdand 19. The Devils went three and out on the next possession but on the following Mustang possession, Crabb threw a fourth down interception which was returned 39 yards by junior Dane Lupton. The turnover set the Devils up with great field position at the Stevenson 34. After gaining five yards on two junior Josh Rainey runs, Green completed a five-yard pass to Panzarino for the Devils first, first down of the evening. The drive ended due to a fumble on the Stevenson 24-yard line. This was the Devils best chance to score. Stevenson added a third touchdown on their first possession of the second half. The Mustangs had great field possession due to a Devils botched punt attempt. The scoring drive went 30-yards in four plays. The Devils were unable to get a first down on their next three possessions having to punt on all three. However, with 1:23 remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Mustangs blocked junior Nick Maciejewski punt attempt which resulted in a Stevenson touchdown to push the score to 28-0. After exchanging punts to start the fourth quarter, Stevenson completed the trifecta by scoring on defense. The Mustangs defense took advantage of a loose ball and returned it 25 yards for the score, but the extra point attempt failed. The FDU-Devils await the ECAC Bowl Selections Monday to see if they were chosen to play in any of the three games. Their will be a selection show on ecacsports.com Monday at noon.
