Men's Basketball Announces Addition of Tyler Thomas for 2019-20 Season

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Sacred Heart University men's basketball head coach Anthony Latina announced on Wednesday that Connecticut-native Tyler Thomas has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Sacred Heart beginning in the 2019-20 season.

Thomas, a 6'4" guard from Woodbridge, Connecticut, averaged 26 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game as a senior, leading Amity to their first ever state finals. Thomas also earned All-State honors and was named the 2017-2018 New Haven Register All-Area MVP. He finished as the second all-time leading scorer in program history, scoring 1, 531 points in three years.

"We are thrilled to have Tyler Thomas become part of our Sacred Heart University Basketball Family! He is a high character individual and an extremely versatile basketball player that can impact a game in many different ways," Latina said. "We have been very fortunate to have some outstanding guards from our home state of Connecticut through the years that have had a major impact on our program and we believe Tyler will continue that tradition!"

The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 24, when they travel to take on Binghamton at 2 p.m. on ESPN+
