Men's Basketball Clinches First Win of the Season with 83-64 Victory Over LIU Post

Nyack, NY. - The Nyack College men's basketball team was back for their second home game in a row to host the LIU Post Pioneers in a NCAA match on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors defeated the Pioneers with a score of 83-64 to earn their first win of the season.

Game Summary:

  • Nyack enjoyed the better start into the game with a 19-5 run with 11:36 to go in the first half

  • the Warriors held off the Pioneers throughout the remainder of the half to take a 14-point lead into the break, 42-28

  • Nyack continued their dominant performance in the second half increasing their lead to 20, 54-34, with 13 minutes left in the game

  • the Warriors did not waver in the remainder of the second half and clinched their first win of the season with a final score of 83-64

Key Performances Three Warriors scored double digits on the day. Gemaal Davis led the Warriors with a total of 19 points with 7-11 shooting, while being perfect from the foul line. Jordan Rodriguez and Shawn Witherspoon also reached double digits with 11 and 10 points.

Up Next: Men's basketball will be back in action on Tuesday at 7:30pm when they host the Felician University Golden Falcons for their first CACC match of the season.
