Women’s Fencing Wins Three Matchups At Drew Holiday Invite
Madison, NJ – The Wagner College women's fencing team recorded victories over Pittsburgh, Hunter, and Navy at the Drew Rangers Holiday Invitational on Saturday. In the Seahawks' tight 14-13 win over Pitt, sophomore Dove Sinclair and freshman Natasha Novikov notched two wins apiece, as the Panthers were forced to forfeit the foil weapon. Against Hunter, Wagner recorded an 18-4 victory by winning all three weapons, with Sinclair, Novikov, along with freshmen Cleo Burton, Carolyn Quoka, Hallie Tiburzi, and junior Rebecca Errickson each recording victories. The Seahawks overcame a deficit in the sabre weapon and a 5-4 loss in the epee weapon against Navy, fighting back with an 8-1 foil victory in earning a 13-12 victory. On the day, Wagner also competed against Fairleigh Dickinson and the host, Drew University. Next up, Wagner will compete at the Philadelphia Invitational on January 19. F
