MEN'S LACROSSE ALUMNI SHINE IN NATIONAL LACROSSE LEAGUE


ALBANY, N.Y. – Former University at Albany men’s lacrosse players already have posted a combined 59 points (28 goals) through the first month of play in the National Lacrosse League.

Lyle Thompson, a two-time Tewaaraton Trophy winner, leads the eight Great Danes alumni playing in the league with 16 points (eight goals) for the Georgia Swarm. Thompson’s brother and teammate both at UAlbany and Georgia, Miles, has eight points (five goals). The duo led the swarm to the NLL title in 2017.

Corey Small, a 2009 UAlbany grad now playing for the Buffalo Bandits, has 13 points (eight goals), and Blaze Riorden, a four-year starting goalie with the Great Danes before graduating in 2016, has seven points (three goals) at forward for the Philadelphia Wings.
